This is a puzzle that requires two people to work together. It consists of two separate devices that are placed far from each other, for example in separate rooms. The objective is to raise the anchor of the pirate ship.

Music box version 2
The second music box I wanted to make was going to be part of a pirate-themed series of puzzles. I needed a box that plays “Yo-ho-ho”, or some other piratey song.
Also, I wanted to improve the design of the previous music box to make it easier to disassemble if something goes wrong.
To play a custom melody, I used a programmable player by Kikkerland: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HAUEFY
It comes with a punch tool and 3 blank paper strips.
The device is much larger than the fixed melody version, and the paper stirps take a lot of space. The approach from the previous music box was not going to work. I decided to use the paper strip itself to drive the lock

Music box version 1
I always wanted to make something like a Jack in the Box, where you crank the handle to play music and then the box would pop open.
