Unicorn clock

This is a clock that can be hung on the wall or placed on a table

It uses a standard clock movement mechanism that you can find online.

For the unicorn head I used this public domain vector image: https://www.kisscc0.com/clipart/unicorn-horn-legendary-creature-fairy-tale-drawing-sy1m1v/

The back of the clock is made of 3mm MDF. It contains the housing for the clock mechanism and the legs

Unassembled on the left, assembled on the right

The legs are attached with easel hinges, which allow opening of up to 45 degrees

The hinges are designed for cardboard, but I found they work well on MDF too. Be careful when hammering them in, as the MDF tends to split. I engraved deep circles at the attachment points. They guide the hinge spikes and help reduce the damage.

One tricky part of the assembly is the alignment of the face and the back. The face has 2 small holes hidden in the dots for 12 and 6 o’clock. The back piece has 2 dots etched in it. You can use the 4 dots to align the two parts.
