This is a simple puzzle, made from a pencil box like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I0EWQF0
You need to create the maze disk first.

My version is made from 5.6mm acrylic that is shaped using a CNC mill. Here’s a link to the Fusion 360 model: http://a360.co/2iAxYxu
Alternatively, it can be made from two 2D laser-cut layers that are glued together. One contains the maze and one is a solid disk. For prototyping the solid disk may be skipped, but the result will be less sturdy.
The sides of the box are cut to fit the maze disk. It should be loose enough to spin freely, but not too loose.

The lid of the box has a small notch made from a 1/8” dowel. It is used to navigate the maze.

Finally, glue the face plate on top.

Decorate to taste.
The solution to the puzzle is quite simple. I will leave it to you to figure it how to close and open the box.
